Pediatric Pulmonologist

Dartmouth Health Children’s and Geisel School of Medicine

The Department of Pediatrics at Dartmouth Health Children’s and The Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth seeks board certified or eligible Pediatric Pulmonologists. We are eager to identify our next leaders of the Section of Pediatric Pulmonology and of the New Hampshire Cystic Fibrosis Center along with junior faculty candidates.

Dartmouth Health Children’s provides an extended system of care with primary, specialty, and advanced tertiary pediatric services, including an inpatient pediatric unit with PICU, level II Pediatric Trauma Center, and level III NICU at its flagship Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (CHaD).  Dartmouth Health Children’s also operates a comprehensive ambulatory specialty center at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinic in Manchester, the largest city in the state, and 10 pediatric primary care medical homes across the region. Dartmouth Health Children’s is committed to addressing racism and other forms of oppression that prevent all children and adolescents from living their healthiest, happiest lives.

The Section of Pediatric Pulmonology provides the only comprehensive childhood lung-health program across the state of New Hampshire, serving patients with asthma and other conditions. The Section also administers the CF Foundation accredited NH CF Center with approximately 100 pediatric and adolescent patients.

Teaching residents and medical students is expected, so eligibility for appointment to the faculty at The Geisel School of Medicine is required, at a rank commensurate with experience and academic portfolio. Academic opportunities across Dartmouth's campuses include world-class traditional biomedical research, global health initiatives, and renowned leadership in quality improvement, outcome, and healthcare delivery sciences at The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice. Geisel hosts an extremely active Lung Biology Group with a strong legacy of NIH funding and collaboration with Pediatric Pulmonology.

Dartmouth Health Children’s is the pediatric service of Dartmouth Health, an integrated academic healthcare delivery system for northern New England anchored by Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) in Lebanon, New Hampshire. DHMC is recognized by US News & World Report as the Best Hospital in NH and is home to over 50 graduate medical education programs, NHs only Level 1 Trauma Center and air ambulance service, the Dartmouth Cancer Center (a National Cancer Institute designated comprehensive cancer center), and CHaD.

Faculty at Dartmouth Health Children’s enjoy the rare opportunity to combine high-level academic medicine with a serene and stress-free living environment at either of its major hubs. Lebanon is part of the Upper Connecticut River Valley, home to Dartmouth College and its abundant cultural and enrichment activities. Greater Manchester is often ranked among the best small cities in the United States for quality of life. With destinations like Boston, New York, Montreal, the seacoast and ski country within short driving distance, this is an ideal place to thrive in work, play, and life.
